RISERS / FLOWLINE / PIPELINE / PLUG SET / IDENTIFICATION TAG
We are always looking for ways to innovate and improve. We saw a need in the market, and adapted our wellbore abandonment process to pipeline risers to address it.
The miniature version of our hydro-cutting tool is suitable for use in pipes as small as two inches.
When cut and capping a riser, flowline or pipeline, a regulatory board-approved plug is installed in the pipeline first, and the cut is made behind the plug. The pipeline is then pulled from the ground by a winch tractor or hydraulic excavator.
Depending on the size of the pipe, it takes 4 to 10 minutes to complete the cut and start to finish, the entire job is generally complete in under 30 minutes. This is a vast improvement on conventional methods which requires an excavation (with proper egress and backfill) and can take several hours.
We can complete 7 or more pipeline abandonments in a day. The speed and efficiency of the NuWave way results in tremendous cost savings, coming in around one-third the cost of an excavation project of similar scope.
